9Health Fair to Be Hosted at CollegeAmerica
Denver (April 18, 2013) — The Denver campus of CollegeAmerica today announced that it will be hosting the 9Health Fair, Colorado’s largest volunteer-driven, nonprofit health fair and education program. The event will be held Friday, April 12, from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the CollegeAmerica campus located at 1385 South Colorado Blvd., Denver.
“CollegeAmerica prides itself in engaging with the community to promote health education and making healthy lifestyle choices,” said Robert Plick, director of community outreach at the Denver campus. “The 9Health Fair is a fantastic event that makes an impact in our community, and we look forward to having our staff and students participate.”
Approximately 40 CollegeAmerica students will be drawing blood, taking vitals and helping practitioners prepare patients for other exams and screenings. The 9Health Fair offers more than 20 free and low-cost health screenings and exams. CollegeAmerica will offer the following 9Health Fair services:
• Blood work, blood pressure, BMI and colon cancer screening. • Information on how to read your results, which is mailed directly to your home within four weeks for you to share with your doctor. • Free interpretation and translation services. • Free “Ask a Medical Question / Get a Referral” services. • Free health education.
This is the 10th year CollegeAmerica has participated in the event and the first year the event has been held on the campus. CollegeAmerica offers healthcare degrees, including healthcare administration, nursing and medical specialties. The college offers hands-on training and actively partners with organizations such as the 9Health Fair to help meet the needs of the community and provide students with meaningful opportunities to gain experience in their fields.
