CollegeAmerica and ‘A Million Thanks’ Campaign Join Forces, Invite Phoenix Community to Help Boost Military Morale
Phoenix (March 06, 2014) — CollegeAmerica, a leading provider of career-focused higher education, has partnered with the nonprofit A Million Thanks campaign to help boost the morale of active, reserve and veteran military personnel currently serving at home and abroad, or who are injured and recovering in hospitals. A Million Thanks has long wanted to identify a donation site in Arizona, and officially selected CollegeAmerica as a partner and drop-off location where A Million Thanks collects letters of encouragement to deliver to past and present military men and women.
Starting Tuesday, March 11, people can drop off cards and letters to the collection box located at the front desk of the CollegeAmerica campus in Phoenix. The college will collect the letters and cover all related shipping costs. Messages will be delivered to military personnel and veterans around the world. To date, more than 6 million letters have been delivered through the A Million Thanks campaign.
“By actively participating in this worthwhile cause, we hope our community will keep in their thoughts the sacrifices members of the military make on a daily basis,” said Linda Berzi, associate dean of business and technology at CollegeAmerica. “We believe the Phoenix community will embrace the campaign and we view this as an opportunity to both support our troops and provide young people with a learning experience.”
Individuals, schools, churches, businesses and other organizations are encouraged to write cards, letters, emails and prayer messages of appreciation. Guidelines for writing are available at www.amillionthanks.org.
Letters can be dropped off at the front desk at CollegeAmerica, located at 9801 North Metro Parkway East in Phoenix. Drop-off times are Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Contact Linda Berzi at 623-589-9860 for more information.
