CollegeAmerica Celebrates 2013 Graduates Cheyenne
Students Commemorate Education Victories With Families and Supporters
Cheyenne, Wyoming (June 11, 2013) — CollegeAmerica, a leading provider of on-campus and online higher education, celebrated the achievements of 13 graduates from its Cheyenne campus last week at the Laramie County Administration Building with commencement keynote speaker Nathan Breen, vice chairman of the Board of Trustees of Laramie County School District 1, and student speaker Dustine Eckhardt, graduate with an Associate of Occupational Studies in Medical Specialties.
Degrees earned during the graduation ceremonies included 11 associate degrees and two bachelor’s degrees.
“Higher education opens doors, builds confidence, and fundamentally changes communities by developing leaders,” said Jimmy Birman, associate campus director. “That is what we are committed to at the Cheyenne campus of CollegeAmerica.”
Eckhardt, who addressed the graduates, was a server at a local restaurant before she enrolled at CollegeAmerica. “I am a single mother and wanted something more for me and my children,” Eckhardt said. “CollegeAmerica allowed me to learn new skills that I will be able to use immediately on the job.” She now has a job in phlebotomy at BioLife Plasma Services in Cheyenne.
Breen is vice chairman of the Board of Trustees of Laramie County School District 1 and president of the Cheyenne Teachers Education Association. He is also the teacher and coach of “We the People” for Central High School, a student group created to revitalize education programs regarding the Constitution in schools.
