The Key to Success
By Staff Writer Published on June 11, 2013
Students face many challenges when completing a degree. The most important tool that you have in your arsenal is a positive attitude. If you start school with the idea that absolutely nothing will stop you from getting your degree, you will succeed. The challenges you may face while in school—child care or time to complete homework, for example—will seem small compared to the amazing feeling when you finally receive your diploma.
Eight years ago, I enrolled in CollegeAmerica’s bachelor of science in accounting program. When I originally started school, I was working three jobs to support my youngest three children. I had attempted college before and had not succeeded. I knew that at age 38, I needed to do something fast.
When I signed those enrollment papers, I was determined to finish my degree no matter what happened. Thirty-two months later, I received my bachelor’s degree in accounting—and with a 4.0 GPA. I have since also earned my bachelor of science in graphic arts, and I am currently working on my MBA.
Success Is within Your Reach
I know that sometimes the task ahead may seem hard. You must think of the elation you’ll feel once you have your degree in your hand. Success is within your reach. All it takes is determination and the willingness to work hard, no matter what. You can change your life, but only you can do it. Do it today!
