Who attends CollegeAmerica?
Our students range from recent high school graduates to working
adults to retirees — anyone who wants to get a degree or
advance their career. CollegeAmerica offers accelerated degree
programs for those who want to get a better job, faster.
Why do students attend CollegeAmerica?
For the prestige and earning power that a college degree offers.
In short: career advancement, licensure and a higher salary and
a sense of accomplishment. A degree opens doors that are often
closed if you don't have a degree.
Can I sit for licensure?
Yes, many of our programs prepare you for certifications/licensure
in your field of interest. We do not guarantee that our educational
programs will necessarily be sufficient to obtain any certification
or license issued by a public or private agency. Certifications
and/or licenses may require additional study and cost.
I'm a veteran...?
CollegeAmerica is proud to be approved for Veterans educational
benefits. We will help you with filing the necessary forms.
What if I'm having trouble?
Student advisors, faculty, technical service staff, tutors, and
study partners all can help you. Having a trusted study partner
to work with and staying motivated all are the best solutions.
How can I pay the tuition?
CollegeAmerica offers a variety of Student Financial Aid Programs
to those who qualify, including our own EduLoan Program which significantly
improves the opportunities for our students to afford college.
How much time will it take?
The accelerated pace of CollegeAmerica programs makes it possible
for you to earn an associate's degree in as little as 15 months
and a bachelor's degree in as little as 30 months if you can attend
the day program.
Can I transfer in any previously earned credits?
Yes, applicable credits earned at a school accredited by an agency
recognized by the U. S. Department of Education are accepted. Please check
with the campus of your choice to determine other credits that may be
accepted, such as Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges (SOC), etc.
Can I get credit for work experience?
A student who has received instruction or who has had experience
in courses scheduled in his/her program may wish to challenge
the course by passing an examination which will earn credit for
the course.
Do you offer student financial assistance?
Yes. We have many different financial aid programs that make it
possible for all students who qualify to enroll.
Is the G.I. Bill accepted?
Yes, many of our students enroll and pay for their tuition through
the G.I. Bill.
Do I have to wait for a particular start time?
There are no long waits at CollegeAmerica. New classes start every
month.
Are my credits transferable?
No college can promise that your credits will transfer. Some colleges
may accept some credits, but you must find out for yourself by
checking with the college you intend to go to. Otherwise you should
assume your credits are not transferable.
Can you place me in a job (guarantee a job)?
No! No college can promise you a job. We do have placement staff
who will teach you resume writing, interviewing skills, and how
to get a job. Most of our graduates are successfully placed.
What is your placement rate?
That varies depending upon the economy and the major. Our placement
director can answer this for you. Or, when you come in, we will
be happy to show you our placement report.
How much can I earn?
That depends upon you, the field, the economy, and what employers
are offering. Most of our graduates increase their income. When
you come in to the college, our Career Services Director can show you
what our recent graduates are earning.
Do your x-ray courses (program) result in ARRT (American Registry
of Radiologic Technologists) Certification?
No. ARRT Certification is a specific certification and requires
that you take a full program (2-or-4 year program) in Radiologic
Technology. Our courses lead to a limited scope licensure by the
State. This does not qualify for the same jobs as a full Radiology
Technologist program.
Do you certify or license x-ray technicians?
No. We are not a certifying agency; licensure is achieved as a
Radiology Practical Technician by passing an exam and then applying
to the State. This is not an equivalent program to ARRT Certification
as a Radiology Technologist.
Are you accredited?
Yes. We are accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career
Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT).
Are you regionally accredited?
No. We are accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career
Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT), which is recognized
by the U.S. Department of Education as a national accrediting
agency.
Does accreditation guarantee transfer of credit?
No. Neither regional nor national accreditation is a guarantee
that credits will transfer.
Do you accept credits from other colleges?
Yes, applicable credits earned at a school accredited by an agency
recognized by the U. S. Department of Education are accepted. Please check
with the campus of your choice to determine other credits that may be
accepted, such as Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges (SOC), etc.
Will you help me find a job?
Yes. Graduates of the college are entitled to use the services
of the Placement Department throughout their entire careers. The
college can provide contacts, potential interviews, and guidance
during the placement process. Upon graduation, we will assist
you throughout the process of seeking employment, but the college
does not guarantee employment.
Can I get financial aid?
Financial aid is available for qualified students. Our financial
aid representatives will be happy to provide you with detailed
information and to determine what financial aid you are qualified
to receive.
Are you approved for veteran's benefits?
The college's programs are approved for the training of veterans
and eligible persons under Title 38, United States Code.
If I withdraw from school, can I get my money back?
You may cancel your enrollment within the first five days of starting
the program, and all payments will be refunded. If you withdraw
after the initial five days, a refund will be calculated based
upon the time you have attended. Our catalog provides full details,
and our financial aid representatives will be happy to explain
them to you.
