CollegeAmerica Hosts Open House at Colorado Springs Campus

Colorado Springs, Colo (January 16, 2014)  —

The Colorado Springs campus of CollegeAmerica welcomed community members and businesses to an open house Thursday to celebrate completion of the brand-new facility. The campus is located at 2020 N. Academy Blvd.

"We are thrilled to welcome current students, graduates and community members to our new campus," said Kiersten Murdoch, regional director of admissions for the Colorado Springs campus. "The new CollegeAmerica campus offers instruction and training. Our student body is comprised of nontraditional working adults who are determined to improve their lives."

Attendees mingled with businesses including H&R Block, Sam's Club, Colorado Home Care, Wells Fargo and Gold's Gym. Free blood pressure readings, blood typing, blood sugar screening and first aid lectures were offered by students and volunteers free to the public.

The new facility occupies 22,000 square feet and offers classrooms for career-focused learning, including a nursing assistant lab, phlebotomy lab, medical office simulated lab and computer science lab. The campus currently has more than 300 students, 30 faculty members and 20 staff members.
