Transfer College Credits and Military Experience

With transferred credits and qualifying military experience that counts toward college credit, you could save up to 75% the time and cost of your associate’s or bachelor’s degree.

“We’ve geared all of our degree programs to be career-specific, and focused on the adult learner who’s coming back to school and needs additional support, focused curriculum, and career-specific curriculum, rather than a lot of electives that may not really add any value to their future career.”

– Eric Juhlin
President of CollegeAmerica

Ways to Transfer Your Experience

The following are just a handful of the ways you can earn college credit at CollegeAmerica and save on the time and cost of your degree:

Credits from Another College

Never take the same class more than once. If you’ve gone to college before, chances are you have some credits that could potentially transfer to one of our programs. Find out how many of your college credits qualify for transfer today!

Defense Activities for Non-Traditional Education Support (DANTES)

Your military experience may convert into college credit. CollegeAmerica and DANTES will work with you to see if any of your military experience qualifies for college credit.

College-Level Examination Program (CLEP)

Your military experience may allow you to test out of some courses completely! Testing, or “CLEPing” out of classes, could save you considerable time and money on your degree.

Advanced Placement (AP) courses

Did you take any advanced placement or college credit courses in high school? If you did, you could potentially transfer those credits to one of our employment-focused degree programs.

College-recognized certifications (i.e., Cisco, Microsoft, A+, etc.)

Have you ever earned any professional certifications through your military service or on the job? Your certifications could potentially transfer to your college degree program.

Competency examination

If you’re already competent at certain degree-related skills, you may not have to take courses that cover that subject matter. Depending on your past military or civilian experience, you may have developed superior competencies in a number of areas that could translate into college credit.
Certain restrictions apply. Speak with a military admissions consultant today to find out if your previous college credits or military experience can be transferred to CollegeAmerica.
