Our family of colleges believes everyone should have the opportunity to earn a degree and enjoy a better future. So, whether you’re fresh out of high school or a seasoned adult ready for a career change, we may have a grant that fits YOU!* Unlike loans, grants don’t have to be paid back.


Career Success Grants

First Time College Grant

$5,000 toward tuition
Designed for independent adults who have never attended college before.

Dependent Student Grant

$5,000 toward tuition
Designed for those who are dependent according to federal financial rules. Typically, applicants are young adults who are not considered financially independent.

Return to Learn Grant

$5,000 toward tuition
Designed for those who have previously earned some college credits but have not yet earned a degree.


Family Grant

Equal to 10% of tuition, this grant program is designed for immediate family members of enrolled students or graduates from one of our family of colleges:

  • Stevens-Henager College
  • CollegeAmerica
  • California College San Diego
  • Independence University

SCHOLARSHIPS AT CollegeAmerica

Through our Good Neighbor Initiative, our family of colleges is proud to offer several generous scholarship1 awards for adults, from high school seniors just entering college to career professionals wanting to advance their current degree.

ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP

Up to $8,000—High school seniors
Academic scholarships of up to $8,000 may be awarded by a campus to graduating high school seniors.

BUILD A BETTER FUTURE SCHOLARSHIP

$3,000—GED® credentialed
Congratulations on earning your GED® test credential! Now we’d like to help you take the next step—train for a career you’ll love.

BACHELOR’S UPGRADE SCHOLARSHIP

$5,000 toward tuition
This scholarship is available to graduates who earned their Associate’s degree from one of our schools: Stevens-Henager College, CollegeAmerica, California College San Diego, or Independence University.

MASTER’S UPGRADE SCHOLARSHIP

$50% of cost of Master’s degree program
This scholarship is available to graduates who earned their Bachelor’s degree from one of our schools: Stevens-Henager College, CollegeAmerica, California College San Diego, or Independence University.
